I’m a poet, author, former entrepreneur, trauma survivor, mother, and professional collector of stories that refuse to leave me alone.
For most of my career, I helped brands understand people. Now I spend my days trying to understand characters.
Turns out those skills aren’t all that different.

The story begins with a death.
When Hollywood icon Kristina Kelley dies unexpectedly, the world mourns a beloved actress.
But the people closest to her inherit something far more complicated:

To the world, she is glamorous, complicated, and endlessly fascinating.
To the people who loved her, she is something else entirely.
Brilliant.
Damaged.
Funny.
Generous.
Self-destructive.
A woman capable of enormous love and equally enormous avoidance.
When Kristina dies, she leaves behind far more than a public legacy.
She leaves behind a lifetime of unfinished conversations.

Kaley feels everything.
She just prefers to disguise it as anger, sarcasm, photography, or motion.
An artist with a gift for capturing uncomfortable truths, she spends much of her life trying to understand the difference between who her mother was and who the world believed her to be.
She is fiercely loyal, endlessly curious, and often the first person willing to say the thing everyone else is avoiding.
The problem is that some truths hurt just as much after you find them.
Why I Wrote It
The older I get, the less interested I am in perfect people.
I’m interested in complicated ones.
The ones who love badly.
The ones who make impossible choices.
The ones who leave.
The ones who stay.
The ones who spend years trying to forgive things they can never fully understand.
The Kristina books are, in many ways, an exploration of the questions that sit beneath so much of my work:
What do we inherit from the people who raise us?
What do we owe the people who hurt us?
Can love survive the truth?
And what happens when the person you’ve spent your life trying to understand is no longer here to answer your questions?

This publication is part fiction, part personal reflection, and part creative journey.
